Become a Coach
Some of the most important people in Little Miami Youth Basketball aren't the ones wearing jerseys—they're the volunteers standing on the sidelines.

Our program relies on parent and community volunteers who are willing to share their time, encourage our athletes, and create a positive basketball experience for our players.
Who Can Coach?
Parents and community members may apply to coach with Little Miami Youth Basketball.

Basketball coaching experience is helpful, but not required.
All coaching assignments are subject to approval by the Little Miami Youth Basketball Board.
Put player development ahead of winning
Create a positive and encouraging environment
Teach sportsmanship and teamwork
Communicate effectively with players and families
Demonstrate patience, respect, and good judgment
Follow LMYBA and CPYBL rules and expectations
Understand that youth basketball should be challenging—and fun!
We look for coaches who:
Submit your LMYBA coach application. Applying doesn't guarantee a spot; selections depend on team needs and Board approval.

Mandatory background checks are required for all team personnel. Approved applicants will receive further guidance.

Complete A Background Check
Complete all mandatory state and LMYBA safety training prior to the season. See our Training & Safety page for full requirements.

Rules
Learn the specific rules for your team's age group. Review CPYBL standards before the season starts.

Review the Code of Conduct
Volunteers serve as ambassadors for our league and community. Coaches must lead by example, having respect for every player and referee on the court.
Your Coaching Checklist
Once You're Approved
Approved coaches will receive additional information as the season approaches, including: team assignments, rosters, practice information, schedules, league information, and other season-specific instructions.
