TEAMS

Recreational Teams

Grades 3–12  |  Boys & Girls

Play. Improve. Belong.

Recreational Teams welcome players with a wide range of basketball experience. The focus is on development, participation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and creating a positive competitive experience.

Team availability may vary each season based on grade, gender, registration numbers, roster needs, and CPYBL league structure.

Program Overview

Opportunities are available for boys and girls, with divisions varying by age.

Grades 3–12

Players can choose to play on a Recreational Team without participating in Athletic Team tryouts.

No Tryout Required

Teams compete against other community-based teams through CPYBL.

Balanced Competition

Development & Competition

Players continue developing fundamentals while learning how to compete as part of a team.

What to Expect

Recreational Teams offer a great balance of basketball, development, and fun. Depending on age and team, families can generally expect:

  • Two practices each week and one weekend game

  • Home and away games throughout the Greater Cincinnati area

  • A 10-game regular season

  • An end-of-season CPYBL tournament

  • Coaching focused on fundamentals, teamwork, basketball IQ, and player development

How Teams are Formed

There are no tryouts required to participate in Recreational basketball. Following registration, Little Miami forms teams with the goal of creating balanced rosters for players across each grade level.

Team formation may consider registration numbers and coaching availability. Specific teammates, coaches, or roster placements cannot be guaranteed.

Players who participate in Athletic tryouts but are not selected for an Athletic Team are encouraged to register for a Recreational Team and continue developing throughout the season.
